Dailycer Limited has recently expanded their production of cereal bars by investing in a new production facility at a cost of between Euro 5 and 6 million at their Deeside factory. As a result of previous reliable service, they have now installed a further five Slimline Ultraclean pumps as part of the new plant.
Dailycer, part of Koninklijke Wessanen NV, produce a full range of cereal products, in particular breakfast cereals, primarily under private label.
The FPL 'One-Nut' fast maintenance Slimline pumps are used in the transfer of colourings, flavourings, condensed milk, glucose and various syrups either from Palecons or drums into the weighing/storage vessels.
The 1½" 316 stainless steel pumps with virgin PTFE diaphragms and elastomers can transfer at a rate of up to 250 lt./min. The suction is flooded and they discharge up to 40 metres distance and 4 metres vertical through 1½" pipework.
The pumps and system are CIP'd (Cleaned In Place) with hot water at 80ºC and each pump has an integral hot water jacket ensuring the product being pumped stays fluid.
Commenting, Dale Moore – Engineering Manager "We decided to use Flotronic pumps again, following our previous successful experience – they have never let us down!".
If self draining is critical then the Slimline Ultraclean pump is ideally suited because it is machined from solid 316 Stainless Steel, with no welds and designed to be self draining, which reduces product residue. By eliminating media residue, the pump eliminates risk of bacteria or other contamination in hygienic applications.
